Take a Soldier Fishing

On Saturday, May 19, 2018, the eighth “Take a Soldier Fishing” event at Henry Hagg Lake is being held within Scoggins Park, near Forest Grove Oregon. Check-in is at area C between 7:00 and 8:00 AM. Fishing ends at 4:00 PM.

Veterans and active duty military from any branch of the armed services and their immediate family members may register and participate in this event. Register as a participant or volunteer by going to www.takeasoldierfishing.org. Participants click on the “soldier” tab and volunteers with or without boats click on the “volunteer tab”.

Volunteers with boats need to provide all fishing and safety equipment for the number of persons that they can safely take in their boat. Participants will bring life jackets for all non-adult children.

I’m hoping to have up to 80 veterans/active duty representatives participating this year. Morning refreshments and lunch will be provided to all volunteers and participants. Door prize drawing for all veterans and active duty military will be held during the lunch hour.
